Happy new year everybody!

Hope everyone had a happy holidays, and amazing new year celebration!

My 2010 started off rough, but it's slowly getting better :)

So far this year is planned to be amazing. In spring I will be headed back to Japan for the Sakura festivals, the sake, the udon, and of course the photography :) So there's something to look forward to :)

I have another trip in the fall that I will be taking.

This year I also hope to publish some of my short stories, and possibly finish my fantasy novel.

But this year I plan to work extra hard on my photography and put more time and effort into planning more of my creative shoots. I have so many ideas written down.


But on other news. Do you know that where I live there is not yet a single snowfall? Everywhere else in my country has had snow, but not my city! It is FRUSTRATING!

We are supposed to have the winter olympics next month hosted here, but we have no snow! What is with that?!


Oh and some of my New Year resolutions:

- Eat less sweets
- After the olympics, visit a new location and shoot every week!
- Work harder on Photography!
- Practice Guitar and singing more
- Exercise more!
- Go to sleep at better time? (This one I keep breaking >.>;)
- Try to keep closer in touch with family
- Spend less money! I'm a shopaholic!
- Think more positive than negative!
- Take JPLT Level 1 test this year. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

::::: About Me! :::::

I'm Aery.

I graduated from the Art Institute in 2004 in a major I couldn't really care much about anymore. I decided to apply my talents to other fields instead.

::::: Beginnings of my Art Journey :::::

I first started drawing when I was 6 years old. To save a long story short, I published and became more known on the internet when I was 14 when I was into Digital Painting. I did more anime-style painting back then, which I don't do anymore. I get bored easily. ^^ Anyhow, I've self taught myself Photoshop since it was version 3.0. Painter since it was only Painter Classic. Basically I've been doing this since the dawn of time... well not really. But I've been around a while.

I quit doing art when I turned 19, entered into art school for animation and dabbled a bit into writing.

And now, I quit animation, writing AND digital and traditional art for photography.

::::: About Photography :::::

I first got into photography the day I decided to take a picture into myself. No, I swear I'm not vain. I was a tomboy, and I never wore a single girly thing in my life. Seeing pictures of me when I was cosplaying at anime conventions convinced me that maybe there was something there for me. I started self modelling casually in 2008, and after getting enormous response on my facebook and my old dA, I decided to branch professionally into modelling. From there I went into makeup artistry as well as dabbling into wardrobe.

I however found out the hard way that not many photographers wanted or wished for models that had many piercings, bright colored dyed hair and tattoos. I had a few jobs here and there but I got curious and decided to jump over the fence and try to do some photography.

I was stubborn in my ways always thinking I could do things with cheap cameras and cell phones. But my views were quickly changed the day I invested in my Canon. From then I invested in expensive lenses and built up my portfolio.


::::: About Hobbies :::::

In my spare time I play games. ALOT. I'm a girl gamer at heart. Actually, I'm a geek too. Yes, I play World of Warcraft and D&D. I am one of those rare girls that headshot unsuspecting n00bs in online fps'. I occasionally paint just to keep up my skills, as well as occasionally write some in my fantasy novel (it's up to 312 pages!). I self teach myself languages (I speak Japanese and English fluently, and learning korean). I collect cute little trinkets, watch anime and obsess about jrockers like every little fangirl too ^^

::::: About Goals/Dreams/Inspirations :::::

It is my ultimate dream to go into music or photography in Japan and be recognized for my art or my songs. I have had this dream for over 20 years now, and it will never change.
